About Sanjee Benjamin
I'll get straight to the point: I offer practical classical piano lessons for those who for the first time want to learn how to play the piano from children to adult of all ages; as well as those in their intermediate level (including those who stopped and want a refresher in order to continue their passion in classical piano playing.)
Classical piano playing is simply one of my favorite hobbies to do, which I hope to leave as one of my God-given skills/legacies to my children, as well as students. By Christ's grace, I have been privileged and gifted with this passion and talent that I have helped serve as a piano instructor and a keyboard player in various church settings.
I have work experience as a piano instructor for 3 years in 3Rs Music Center in the Philippines (2001-2003) teaching many children and young adults, as well as experience in piano/ keyboard playing performer/accompaniment in a Christian contemporary church setting from 2002 to 2009.
My style of teaching revolves around the discipline of: (1) building basic and good understanding of music theory; (2) inculcating practical sight reading and basic hand-eye coordination/proprioceptive skills (important for child/ student to learn early in the learning process in order to help progress the student systematically as he/she learns the piano); (3) simple memorization techniques; and (4) simple practical tips/ways to develop confidence when playing the piano in a public setting.
I personally think that classical piano playing is a great way of expressing praise and glory to God while one enjoys the art of making music of sharing it to others and loved ones.
The most I enjoy is seeing my students develop the skill of sight-reading as he/she is able to play a simple classical piece independently and beautifully without my assistance.
