About Jeremy
Music is an inspiration and a joy and I look forward to helping you with your musical pursuits! I am a soloist, chamber musician, composer, improvisor, arranger, and teacher. I studied piano at the Eastman School of Music and Central Washington University. I have accompanied many instrumentalists and singers in concerts, and I've also had the opportunity to play for theater performances, opera performances, choir concerts, church services, and other events. I have discovered a love for teaching through giving individual lessons, coaching voice students, and working with church choirs with different ages and levels of experience.
(concealed information)
I started teaching when I was a junior at Eastman. My first student was an adult and older than I was! Since then I have taught privately part time, coached university students for 2 years, and taught church choirs for over 4 years.
-Bachelor's in piano from Eastman
-Master's in piano from Central Washington University
-Studied piano pedagogy with Tony Caramia at Eastman

When you first get in touch with me I'll need to get an idea of what you'd like to accomplish and what you can do so far. Hopefully you can demonstrate your sight-reading ability and play a classical sonata or sonatina. To me the most imporatant quality in a student is a willingness to learn-so, though I do not usually teach beginning lessons, I'm interested in hearing your work and I won't automatically rule out the possibility that I can help you, no matter your "level." If possible I'd love to get a sample of your work (i.e. via YouTube/Vimeo link). We'll take it from there!
My youngest student (so far) was 12. My oldest student was a beginner in her 50s! I have given lessons to beginners as well as to fellow piano teachers with music degrees.
