About Aileen
I have been a Piano teacher in Miami, Florida since 2008 and have learned a lot over the years about teaching through both experience and formal education. I got my diploma from the National Guild of Piano Teachers and have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I am very good with children and truly love teaching Piano as my full time job.
As a teacher I am both a friend and a mentor. I want to encourage my students to grow as muscians while still being able to enjoy and even fall in love with the study of Piano. I would never want them to see piano practice as a chore or boring and for that reason I am very open minded with their learning style and flexible with my teaching approach. I let my students pick the songs they want to learn and help them build a repertoire that reflects their persoanl style and preferance.
I offer all my students annual recitals and other performance opportunities such as the Miami Dade County Youth Fair Student Exhibits (Performing Arts Division) as well as the enrolling and auditioning for the National Guild of Piano Teachers.
I really enjoy connecting with my students and getting to know them while also being able to give with them the knowledge of Music. It is such a gift to be able to teach a subject I have always adored and felt comfortable with and to be able to love your job is a dream come true for me and all I want is to continue to grow as a teacher and really inspire my students.
I started teaching piano because my piano teacher was switching career goals and wanted me to take on some of her students. At that time I was 18 years old and scared that I wouldn't be a good teacher and it was only a side job. Throughout the years I have found confidence with my teaching style and have learned a lot. I went to University to study Education and had a lot of opportunities that taught me so much about being an educator and have had many chances to gain experience. I currently have over 30 students and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to make teaching piano and music lessons my full time job.

I try to get to know a little about the student and what their goal is from piano lessons and what they will like to accomplish. I also like to know what their personal musical style and preferance is and why they want to learn piano.
From there I adjust according to the student's current level of piano, as well as their age and learning style.
For beginners I begin to introduce all the basic knowledge of Music including musical notation, note values, sight reading, and general music theory. I will then start to focus on piano skills and techniques such as finger exercises, phrasing, pedaling, rhythm, tempo, dynamics, etc.
All students will learn about the different eras of Music and Time Periods (such as Baroque, Classical, Romantic, etc.) and their famous composers (such as Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc.)
All student will also learn their scales/chords/arpeggios
I will guid each student on how to build a repertoire of music pieces that reflects that student's personal style and they will also learn how to organize a practice schedule that will be both productive and reasoable to each individual student's level and needs.
I have worked with kids as young as five years old to adults who are retired and in their later years.
I have worked with beginners with no prior knowledge of music or piano skills, as well as students who have been working on piano for years and wanting to become more professional.
I also have worked with students with special educational needs, including autism and other learning difficulties and behavioral challenges.

Aileen is an excellent piano teacher who has the patience and passion to teach. She has taught my son for the past 5 years and I would not change her for any other teacher. She is flexible and understanding when it comes to schedules and is easy to communicate with. She is a wonderful person inside and out and a phenomenal piano teacher.
She personally taylors each course to the student. She is very patient, kind, punctual, and professional. My kids and my mom have been taking lessons with her for years. She is flexible and accommodating. My kids play piano beautifully thanks to her. My kids are now 7 and 11. They began at 5 and 8. I don’t recommend people often, but I recommend and trust Aileen with my eyes closed.
She is incredibly talented and very patient with my daughter. It’s incredible to see how well we have transitioned from in person lessons to virtual. We highly recommend Aileen as your piano teacher.
She had a lot of patience with the kids and her soft voice and kindness helps them want to learn even virtually!
Aileen is very personable and relatable. She keeps my son highly interested and engaged through the lesson. Her lessons combine classic music history, appreciation and practice along with current music (which my son loves).
Her patience ad ability to teach children at all levels and with different needs and abilities.
She is professional, considerate with the kids and adults but honest and firm. The kids advance well with her. She is patient and extremely knowledgeable and quickly narrows in on the best teaching style for the individual. Almost 2 years and 2 kids later she is 5 star all the way.
