About Cole
I take an approach that aims to help the student find their best way to practice and progress. Only 10% of a students success comes from lessons, the rest is from practice in their own time. I aim to make a practice routine for them that is not too challenging, and every lesson I will assess where the student is at and give them a goal to achieve by the next lesson.
The joy I get from teaching is not the act of teaching itself, but rather seeing a student achieve a goal of theirs that they are proud of. This is why I began giving lessons, and why I continue to do so.
I have a passion for the saxophone and hope to become a music teacher after college. I find giving lessons as a great opportunity to gain much needed experience that I will use later in my career.
I have been playing saxophone for 7 years now. I'm a highschooler which is why my prices are much lower than that many other saxophone teachers in the area. However, I am able to teach 100% of what they can to a beginner saxophone player or intermediate player.

First I take my time to get to know why the student has taken up the saxophone. After that, I analyze what level the student is at to best plan out a practice routine for them. One that is fast, yet effective.
I have typically worked with students in the middle school age and highschool age who aim to improve their saxophone skills to an above average level, as well as improve their ability to solo in a jazz setting.
I believe it is a great choice to hire a teacher to help give one on one lessons in saxophone and music. However, it is quite important to understand that the lessons are only going to be 10% in becoming a better musician, the other 90% is gained by practicing on your own time.
