Vocal Precession Studios offers me so much more than just learning how to sing. I’m learning my body and to look at it as instrument, I’m learning the fundamentals and basics behind sing. I’m also learning mental and life lesson that not only helps further the strength of my voice; but also how to manage and profit off of what I learned. This has truly been an experience that has helped in multiple areas in my life not just singing.

What I love about Ms. Sorrell is that she always pushes you, not beyond your limits, but to your fullest capacity, even when you don’t know what that is for yourself. She understands the emotional strength and energy one must have to overcome mental obstacles, and let yourself go in the world of music and singing, and uses her intelligence to sympathize with you when you occasionally stumble, AND raise you back up when you fall. I have always felt that she has seen much more in me than I see in myself, and her patient guidance has allowed me to see that version of myself inside me. I’m now more determined than ever to become that person. And this person doesn’t just have great vocal skills, he also has great mental, and emotional management skills. Because not only does Ms. Sorrell teach vocal skills, but she also coaches you to be mentally strong when you feel like giving up, or when you don’t feel like you have the potential to be that talented person you want to be. She has been nothing short of an absolute pleasure to work with, and I would 100% recommend others to work with her, and discover the wonderful gems that are inside them!

I’ve been working with Ms. Sorrell for about two months now. In that time, I’ve grown exponentially as a singer, performer, and person. From my very first introductory phone call with Ms. Sorrell (which wasn’t even a lesson!), I received a mini-lesson in itself about believing in myself.
Before I started with Ms. Sorrell, I’d been training myself in how for about 15 months prior. In that time, I had managed to develop vocal techniques like healthy belting, mixing, and vibrato, but within four weeks of working with Ms. Sorrell, those techniques grew faster than I ever expected. When I practice, I’m hitting super high notes (I’m a baritone/tenor and comfortably hitting and sustaining F#4’s, G4’s and G#4’s in a mixed and strong tone). After the vowel exercises Ms. Sorrell gave me, my vibrato is coming through stronger, more consistent, and more beautiful than ever, and my breath support has been getting so much better as well. We usually spend about 30-40 minutes on exercises and then a bit of time on songs as well.

In terms of Ms. Sorrell, she’s an excellent singer. I believe her to be (and I believe her to have said that she is) a soprano, but it’s so cool when I’m singing an exercise that’s low in my (male) range and she just casually goes and hits the exact note I’m struggling with in my octave. Most professional broadway/pop stars couldn’t do that. Ms. Sorrell is kind but won’t settle for less than she knows you can do - in any exercise that she feels isn’t executed perfectly, she makes sure to point out what you did well, and then kindly gives feedback on how to improve, and she never gets mad if you struggle. She always gives good visual and auditory feedback during when you’re singing an exercise as well (in the way of head nods, shakes, thumbs-up’s, and okay signs). If you do an exercise well enough, you might even get applause!

I can’t recommend Ms. Sorrell enough, and I sincerely hope that you look into lessons with her.

I've had the pleasure of working with Ms. Rozyln for many years and I must say she has not only been an incredible vocal teacher, but she has also provided great guidance on navigating the industry. I have a greater appreciation for my instrument (my voice) because of my vocal coaching with Roslyn. I've learned how to utilize my voice in a way that I didnt before. For example: exercising breath control and opening my mouth so the sound can come forth! Roslyn really focuses on technique and I needed that.
