About Lorie
YOUR goals for why and how you will use the language are the most important for our tutoring sessions, and that is what we will work together towards achieving. All sessions are individualized for your particular needs.
What excites me most about tutoring and teaching is seeing students make progress and get a feeling of satisfaction from their efforts. Whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced student, my number one goal is always to meet you where you are now, help you feel comfortable in your efforts, and support you as you progress and gain experience.
My experience with teaching/tutoring is diverse. Besides having a BA in Spanish and a MA in Teaching, I have worked with both English and Spanish-speaking students from middle school to college age. I began my teaching career as a High School Spanish teacher.
I have taught coursework in both languages and I understand firsthand the challenges that come with learning a new language, as I began my second language journey as an adult.
