About Ismael
As a dedicated swim instructor, my primary goal is to instill a deep sense of love and respect for the water in every child/adult I teach. Through a combination of engaging activities and essential skill-building, I create a nurturing environment where young swimmers not only have fun but also develop a profound understanding of water safety and respect.
To foster a love for the water, I ensure that every lesson is filled with excitement and joy. I utilize playful techniques such as using toys, singing songs, giving high-fives, and maintaining a warm, smiling demeanor throughout each session. By infusing each interaction with positivity and enthusiasm, I help children associate the water with happiness and enjoyment.
Equally important is teaching children how to respect the water, which is fundamental for their safety. In every class, I focus on five key skills that form the foundation of water competency:
Forward and Back Kicks: I guide children in mastering the art of propulsion through gentle kicks, helping them understand how to move efficiently in the water.
Arm Motions: By teaching proper arm techniques, I empower children to navigate the water with confidence, enabling them to control their movements effectively.
Face Submerging: I gently introduce children to the concept of submerging their faces in the water, gradually building their comfort and confidence while ensuring they understand the importance of breath control.
Floating: Through patient guidance and support, I teach children how to achieve a relaxed and stable float, emphasizing the significance of buoyancy and body positioning.
Climbing In and Out of the Pool: I demonstrate safe methods for entering and exiting the pool, emphasizing the importance of caution and awareness around pool edges.
By reinforcing these essential skills in every class, I not only equip children with the ability to enjoy swimming safely but also instill in them a profound respect for the water's power and potential hazards. Through patience, encouragement, and unwavering dedication, I empower young swimmers to embrace the water with both love and reverence, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of aquatic enjoyment and safety.
