About Emily
I provide a positive, fun swim lessons experience to children and their families. The most important aspect of swim lessons to me is that children are comfortable and confident in their swimming skills, not scared.
As a college student studying Elementary Education, my goal in life and in my career is to teach children in hopes that they learn something new. The "aha" moment children express when the learn a new skill is what every parent and teacher's dream!
I started teaching swim lessons with the YMCA in the beginning of 2021, meaning I am WSI certified. I now teach swim lessons with a private swim company in Tampa, FL.
I am going into my second year of teaching swim lessons. I am lifeguard certified. I also coach dance and cheer!

In every child's first swim lesson, evaluating their comfortability in the water and swimming skills is key. Some children will need to start out with their parent during swim lessons to establish a good relationship with the water so that they have an enriching experience with a swim instructor.
I have worked with children with learning disabilities, Down syndrome, audio, visual and language barriers, and Autism from aged infant to adults!
Comfortability with a swim instructor is key! Learning how to swim should be a pleasant experience for everyone involved.
