About Mary
I'm currently a sophmore at the George Washington University in Washington DC, I'm originally from Michigan. At home having so many lakes close to me I've always loved swimming and other water recreational acticities.
I am currently lifeguard/ frist aid certified as well as WSI (Waster Saftey Instructor) certified. My experience as a swim instructor; over the past three years I have spent my summers at a local day camp back in Michigan teaching swim lessons for children ranging in age from 6 years old to 13 years old. Aditionally I was a life guard at my community pool for a year and a half and taught swim lessons there during the school year to kids ranging from 4 to 12 years old.
Having such a passion and love for spending time in the water, I love giving others skills and confidence to enjoy it as well. Adittionally I like to describe myself as fun, out going, and a little goofy at times which makes me especially love working with kids, planning lessons based on fun games that are enjoyable and help to develop skills.
- Lifegaurd and First AID certified
- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certified
- Swim instructor at Varsity Day Camp in Pickney MI for three summers (2017-2019)
-Lifegaurd and Swim Instructor at community pool at home (2017-2018)

Before starting lessons I would love to meet up sometime for coffee for stundents to get to know me, to understand what skills you want to work on, and to agree on best times/ days are best for eachother. Being a college student, and understanding busy schedules I want to make a felxible scheule that thta fits both our needs.
As to how lessons will go, our first lesson will be an assesment of the students basic skills based of off the Red Cross WSI skills and capabilities test. From there will develop a block plan of skills that the student wants to develop.
