(concealed information)
Born in Seattle, Washington, Alisa began playing the violin at the age of four. Her mother is a piano instructor who helped her by applying her knowledge and practicing methods to her learning, including playing alongside her for many years. Alisa took violin lessons for twelve years under the Suzuki Music Program of Los Angeles with former Director Emeritus, Idell Low. As a very active violinist and chamber musician, Ms. Alisa Luera has performed widely in Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Italy, and the US, and has appeared as concertmaster with LAYO's Symphony Orchestra (Los Angeles Youth Orchestra) from 2011-2017. Under her years in LAYO, she took part in performances with Disney XD, Shari Sutcliffe, David Grohl, the Foo Fighters, and Tony Visconti. The Youth Orchestra performed in several halls around the world such as New York at Carnegie Hall, Vienna’s Esterhazy Palace and MuTh Hall, Rudolfinum "Dvorak Hall" in Prague, and several venues in Italy. Although she graduated, she continues collaborating with the Youth Orchestra's conductor, Russell Steinberg, as an ambassador for the organization.
In 2014, she joined JCM (Junior Chamber Music). Accepted in their Debut Artists Program and selected to attend JCM's Honors Tour to New York and Boston, Alisa has taken part in masterclasses at Longy's School of Music, New England Conservatory, Juilliard School of Music, and has performed in Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall. She recently finished her last year with JCM and their Honors Tour to have her last masterclass and performance experiences in Vienna, Prague, and Budapest.
Alisa Luera is in her fourth year at CSUN, studying under Professor Lorenz Gamma, and was selected to be in the CSUN Scholarship Honors String Quartet. She and the members took masterclasses with Arnaud Sussmann of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Bin Huang of China Conservatory, Yuan Sheng of Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, and the Calder Quartet. Since attending CSUN’s Department of Music, she was co-concertmaster for the past three semesters, and chosen to play alongside with Dr. Gamma, Dr. Julia Heinen, Dr. Robert Berg, Ben Hong of USC and the LA Philharmonic, and Jonathan Moerschel of the Calder Quartet in previous faculty concert in the school.
