About Joakim
My coaching style embodies a holistic approach towards strengthening players’ abilities. For example, although creating a tailored training program for a volleyball player is important, it is equally important to ensure that these high-level skills are retained and volleyball players can continue to be successful no matter where their career takes them. I emphasize strengthening not only player’s abilities and skills, but also would like to cultivate their identity as a student athlete.
From my background as both an elite volleyball player and coach (see my background below), I truly enjoy working with developing players and enjoy seeing my mentees succeed on and off the court.

About the lesson

First I like to gauge where players are at with the fundementals of volleyball: Setting, passing, serving, digging etc. Then I like to get the student's input on what they feel like they need to improve on. I like to know students' goals (collegiate training, playing at an elite club or varisty level) and then implement training based on my experience of the demands of these settings.
