About Sharon
I work with student who are wanting learn about their own bodies. They want to learn how to work with their own bodies to be their own healer.
I work my student one on one and tailor each session for thier personal needs and ability.
I am am National Board Ceritified Massage Therapist with 17 years of experience. My specialities are Therapeutic massage, Hot Stone massage and Warm Bamboo massage.
I have been teaching yoga for over 12 years. I am a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher, certified in Restorative, Yoga for Osteoporosis.
I started teaching as a student at the yoga studio I was atteding. I began teaching beginners. I love to teach beginners, but over the years I have found I like working and teaching more therapeutically to individual as they are learning the amazing gift of yoga.
I graduated from the Massage Therapy Training Institute in Kansas City Missouri in 2001. It is now Wellspring. I am Nationally Board Certified since 2001 and have taken the required CEUs in modalities like, Hot Stone Massage, Thai Massage, Therapeutic Massage, Warm Bamboo Massage among many other massages.
I recieved my 200 hour yoga certification from Suzette Scholtes and The Yoga Studio in Overland Park Ks in 2001 and a 500 hour Viniyoga Teacher Certification from Gary Kraftsow and The American Viniyoga Instutite in 2014. Over the years I have been certified in Restorative Yoga by Judith Hanson Lasiter and Yoga for Osteoporosis with Dr. Loren Fishman and many other teachers who have come in town for workshops.

I like to meet with my clients and assess their physical ability. I like to discussion their goals for what they want from our sessions.
I have worked with knee issues, back issues, osteoporosis as well as neck issues.
The advice I would give to any student is to like your teacher. You must trust in the teacher's method. If you don't believe in the teacher's philosophy you probably won't do the homework. Spend time in conversation and see if you like the teacher as a person. It will serve you well if you trust and like your teacher as a person.
I recently work with a woman who had bone on bone knee issues. She was in pain when she walked and getting up and down from sitting was extremely painful. With a combination of massage and yoga therapy she was able to walk and get up from sitting with almost no pain. She eventually had knee replacement but she was able to go a cruise and work in the garden, things that she could not do, giving her some good quality of life until her surgery. She also felt it helped get her ready for the surgery resulting in a faster recovery.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Will they listen to you if you feel what they are doing is not working or doesn't feel good.
2. Do they have the credentials to work with your issue.
