About Renán
I am a Venezuelan-Dutch composer and violinist. I studied composition and violin at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague (Netherlands) and film music at the Amsterdam Conservatoire. It has always been very important for me to combine my activity as a composer with the violin, and often both meet (for many of the soundtracks I have made, I have recorded myself playing).
Along with all this, I have always been drawn to teaching classes, both composition and violin. I believe that the development of musicality is something extremely important, regardless of whether one is going to dedicate oneself professionally to music or not. I have helped students of different ages, levels and interests to develop creativity and musical sensitivity in order to also be able to grow as people.

Based on your goals and level, we will study repertoire that is relevant and interesting. I have experience playing both classical and contemporary music, free improvisation and in bands, so depending on what you are looking for, we will adapt the content of the classes.
Technique is a fundamental pillar of playing the violin. We will develop this using traditional methods (scales and arpeggios, etudes), but also through improvisation and the repertoire itself. The important thing is to see that the study of technique and the development of musicality always go hand in hand.
For me, it is essential to develop an environment of trust in my classes, where you feel comfortable and free to express yourself and bring your own ideas.
