About Molly
Hi, I'm Molly, I have been playing musical instruments since the age of 7, first learning classically on viola and piano up to grade 7 and grade 5 musical theory with ABRSM.
Having always had an interest and background in Irish traditional music, I started learning the tin whistle in 2012 and have had experience in teaching group and private lessons since 2015. I have taught both young children and adults the tin whistle at varying levels, using online platforms (Zoom and Skype) as well as in-person.
For my day job I work in the arts, largely with young people and within the arts & healthcare sector, as well as my own practice in photography.

I am an experienced tin whistle teacher available to give lessons to both children and adults from absolute beginner to intermediate.
Each lesson lasts one hour (the first lesson is a free 30 minutes) and can be taught by manuscript sheet music, musical note lettering, by ear or a mix of the above.
For both private and group teaching I aim to teach one traditional Irish tune per lesson. For group lessons the pupils will learn by playing together as well as playing individually to ensure they receive equal attention as well as a growth in confidence. At the end of each lesson I offer recording for the student/s to practice with.
For private lessons I can alter the pace of teaching to whatever the student finds most comfortable.
I want my students to enjoy learning and suggestions for what they would like to learn are always taken into consideration.
