About Marialena
I graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto, where I completed my undergraduate degree (honours). I majored in English literature and Environmental Ethics, with a minor in Philosophy. This was followed by my masters degree at York University (a two-year program including thesis). I have been awarded multiple scholarships at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. As well, I completed my TESL certification at CCLSC in Toronto.
During my post-secondary education I honed my advanced writing and editorial skills. Besides writing essays and a full-length thesis, I have worked professionally on grant proposals for professors and non-profit organizations.
I have several years tutoring and teaching experience in a variety of settings. I am passionate about reading and writing, and I strive to share that enthusiasm with my students. I love to continue learning from and with my students.

I let my students' needs and goals guide the material we cover in our sessions. As such, we can approach subjects with flexibility. As well, I draw on my academic experience: I can explain material and encourage discussions as needed.

Other than being a great teacher, she Is also an amazing person with a good heart. What I have felt studying under her roof is that by nature she wants welfare ,growth and prosperity for the people.
Ms. Maria Lena has expertise in teaching her student at their level she is also great at understanding concepts from her students point the view and I can confidently say that she has a wide knowledge of her subject. I would highly recommend her as a teacher.
