About Winston
Hi, I'm Winston. I am from Shanxi, a northern province of China, which is why I don't have an accent. I can help you to learn standard pronunciation of Mandarin, which is spoken by two thirds of Chinese people. I have an IELTS score of 7.0, which means we can understand each other and study without obstacles. And I obtained my master’s degree in Renewable energy in Newcastle University, UK. This experience let me gain a cross-cultural perspective and empathy, which is important in language learning and teaching. I know the difficulties and traps well when we touch a new language, and the skills to learn Chinese easily and interestingly. And I have taught adults and exchange students Chinese both in reality and online.

You can choose comprehensive learning (Listening/Speaking/Writing/Reading) or just one area. Students over 6 are welcome! Just go for it!

Winston is a smart native speaker, and we have a great time in the class. I have learned so much. A lot of learning, a lot of laughter.
Usually do it once a week, and then I have homework to review and study. Really covers the basics, and then we cover stuff from my day to day, go over and practice words and sentences I might use for my job etc.
Winston is very friendly & patient, and considered. And a wonderful teacher, he knows how to explain complex things in a way that's easy to understand. Highly recommended!Yes he is excellent! His teaching approach with student is very practical, meaning submerge immediately in communicating using mandarin. He corrects and gives advice on how to express their thoughts in Chinese. It helps my child(Grade 7) with the Chinese subject and her exam results improved. She can understand and communicate in Mardarin well. Our “Lao shi” really encourage and motivates her student. I appreciate her work and patience. Great help indeed. I will definitely recommend them!
