About Florence
Hi, I’m Florence! I’ve always loved learning and believe education should feel exciting, not overwhelming. I know from experience that study can sometimes feel stressful or unmotivating, which is why I focus on helping students find ways to learn that actually work for them. My goal is to make sure every student I teach feels supported, confident, and capable of excelling. I completed NCEA Biology and English in New Zealand with top marks, and I’m now studying Medical Science at the University of Sydney, specializing in Anatomy and Neuroscience. Alongside my studies, I’ve attended a Medical Science Summer School at Oxford University and completed a Diploma in Neuroscience with Duke University. These opportunities have deepened both my subject knowledge and my passion for education. What sets me apart as a tutor is my friendly, approachable style combined with my commitment to sharing effective study techniques. I love creating custom resources—from cue cards to study guides—that make tricky topics easier to understand and remember. More importantly, I understand the challenges students face, and I want to help them overcome those obstacles with patience, encouragement, and the right tools. I tutor Biology, English, and Statistics for students aged 10–18, and I look forward to helping every student I teach discover their potential and achieve their goals.

Hi, I’m Florence! I know how challenging schoolwork can feel, whether it’s lack of motivation, tricky concepts, or the pressure of exams. My goal as a tutor is to make learning clear, manageable, and motivating, while helping students build both knowledge and confidence.
My teaching style is hands-on and practical. I break down complex ideas into simple steps, then use proven study methods like cue cards, active recall, and exam-focused strategies. I also create personalised resources (such as PDF cue cards and study guides) so students have the tools they need to keep learning outside our lessons.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, but I can adjust depending on the student’s needs. I like to keep sessions interactive and supportive, encouraging students to explain ideas in their own words and develop study techniques that work for them.
I achieved top marks in NCEA Biology and English in New Zealand, and I am now excelling in Medical Science at the University of Sydney, specialising in Anatomy and Neuroscience. I have also attended a Medical Science Summer School at Oxford University and completed a Diploma in Neuroscience with Duke University. These experiences have strengthened both my academic background and my passion for teaching.
