About Niti
I approach Spanish tutoring with a focus on practical communication and long-term retention. My lessons begin with a thorough assessment to understand each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, which allows me to tailor a learning plan that’s both challenging and achievable. I believe vocabulary and grammar must be taught hand-in-hand with conversational practice—students learn best when they use new words and structures in meaningful dialogue. I incorporate listening exercises featuring native speakers from various regions to expose students to authentic pronunciation and intonation. Reading and writing assignments are connected to the student’s interests, whether that’s travel, business, or culture, which makes learning engaging and relevant. I also emphasise the importance of cultural literacy by introducing traditions, history, and current affairs of the Spanish-speaking world, helping learners contextualise language use. I encourage regular practice and reflection, helping students set realistic goals and monitor their progress. One highlight was helping a student develop confidence to participate in a Spanish-speaking community group, turning language study into social connection. My goal is always to empower learners to use Spanish confidently and enjoyably in real life.

My teaching philosophy is built around the idea that Spanish should be lived, not just learnt. I focus on helping students gain practical fluency through consistent, real-life communication from the very beginning. Whether they’re complete beginners or more advanced learners, I encourage them to use Spanish actively—to ask and answer questions, express opinions, and describe the world around them. I believe confidence is built through use, so I guide students in forming full sentences, correcting gently, and celebrating progress at every stage. I use role-plays, visual storytelling, and contextual scenarios to reinforce learning in ways that are both natural and memorable. Grammar is important, but I never teach it in isolation. Instead, I introduce it as a set of tools students can apply immediately, integrating it into conversation and writing tasks so that usage becomes second nature. Reading and listening are also core components, and I expose learners to authentic materials—everything from news articles and dialogues to popular music and short films—to enhance comprehension and cultural insight. Culture, for me, is inseparable from language. I introduce my students to the vast diversity of the Spanish-speaking world, helping them understand the differences between Argentinian, Colombian, Mexican, and Spanish expressions, customs, and ways of life. I believe this cultural awareness deepens both interest and respect. I also personalise every lesson using digital tools and tailor-made resources to meet individual learning styles and goals. My ultimate aim is to create a space where students feel safe to explore, make mistakes, and grow—because learning a language isn’t just about words and rules, it’s about building bridges across cultures and finding joy in expression.
