About Koli
With 8 years of teaching and performing experience, I am a passionate violin tutor dedicated to helping students reach their full potential as musicians and individuals. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most fulfilling moments of my career has been witnessing students evolve from hesitant beginners into confident performers capable of playing with skill, expression, and emotion.
My teaching emphasises technical mastery, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing musical creativity, interpretation, and emotional expression. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a well-rounded musical education.
I tailor lessons to each student’s learning style, pace, and goals, creating a patient, supportive, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, foster discipline, and cultivate a lifelong passion for music in every student.

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to guide students towards becoming technically proficient, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are customised to the student’s skill level, learning style, and goals, combining structured technical practice with improvisation, creative exploration, and performance preparation.
Motivation is at the heart of my approach. I work with students to define achievable goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, engagement, and self-confidence. Each lesson is designed to inspire students to embrace challenges and find joy in their growth. Communication ensures that lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, allowing students to express questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely.
Creativity is emphasised in every session. I incorporate improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises to help students develop their own artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity teaches responsible practice, disciplined effort, and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure long-term progress and excellence.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, providing a comprehensive musical foundation. This methodology ensures students develop technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and a lifelong love for music.
