About Kirstin
Fall in love with playing the flute, with me, Kirstin. Expect, 'out of the box' approaches with an abundance of laughter, fun and experience! My students have gone on to perform in orchestras, teach themselves, West End stages or just loved their journey as a hobby. As an exam moderator/ Curriculum writer and bring Everyone's A.. Musician, Dancer and other arts subjects into South East Asia and UK. I have introduced to many the love of music to all - whether through bopping along with a backing app, a riff, a class band Music is for all.

I have a tailored teaching style, bespoke in pace to each particular student's learning approach, and need. Whether ‘for fun’ ‘exam’ ‘special surprise’ or a mix of all. That takes into consideration of age and cognitive learning preferences Auditory – (Rhythm, repetitive sounds, song), Visual and Kinaesthetic (hands on doing!) Each piece you learn, and technique is broken down into ‘achievable fun chunks’ to make ‘practice a joy’ I set reportable schemes of work, progress reports, and Lesson plans, with clear ‘Learning outcomes’. Mapped to targets of GCSE/KS1-3/ IGCSE-BTEC and AS/A-Level units of learning. I am a curriculum writer, and founded Everyone’s A… Musician, Dancer, Thespian, My qualifications include MA – sound engineering and Acoustics, SLT Arts Education, PGCE Music (Secondary) and Instrumental tuition (0-19/and seniors). BA hons (1st class), Music and Theatre studies (Royal Northern College Music and Derby University) Post Grad L9 Diploma (Distinction) PA/Events Management. ABRSM -advanced diploma -distinction. Therefore topics are interchangeable from classical Renaissance, Baroque through to Bebop-Hip-hop Grooves/hooks and many a Ed Sheeran, Banana-Apple remix! Young Flautists, I have tailored teaching for learners as young as 3 years, with the Toot and Fife, and Novo curved head – and conduct a mini fun activity assessment of the ‘mouth, teeth, and hands prior to lessons. I do accept Special Educational needs flute enthusiasts, and learning is naturally tailored. Teaching materials that accompany flute repertoire, music theory are also bespoke, for over 20 years as a unique curriculum writer.. so expect to suddenly learning breathing through the use of a ‘swimming pool, rubber duck!’ or many a fun game to bring the joys of music alive!.
