About Mariam
I’m Mariam Ola-Hassan, a fashion educator, designer and fashion business professional with over 8 years of experience in the fashion industry and fashion education. I have trained 800+ students, working with beginners, aspiring designers and practicing fashion professionals.
My expertise covers pattern drafting, garment construction, sewing, style interpretation, bridal and occasion wear, fashion business and curriculum development. I am particularly passionate about helping people move beyond simply knowing how to sew and develop a deeper understanding of fashion, technique and professional practice.
Over the years, I have worked in both fashion education and industry settings, developing training programs, mentoring fashion entrepreneurs and helping students turn their creative skills into practical, sustainable opportunities.
I’m a very hands-on and detail-oriented teacher. I care about doing things correctly, but I also understand that every student learns differently. My goal is to create a learning environment where you can ask questions, practice, make mistakes, understand what went wrong and develop the confidence to work independently.

My lessons are practical, structured and tailored to your current skill level and goals. Whether you are a complete beginner learning to sew for the first time, an intermediate designer looking to improve your technical skills, or an aspiring fashion entrepreneur, I will help you build skills you can actually apply.
With 8+ years of experience in fashion education and over 800 students trained, I teach more than just sewing. You will learn how to understand styles, draft and modify patterns, cut accurately, construct garments properly and troubleshoot common fitting and construction problems.
Lessons can also include fashion business, pricing, production planning and building a more structured fashion brand, depending on your objectives.
I use a step-by-step approach with demonstrations, guided practice and feedback. Rather than simply copying what I do, you will learn the principles behind each process so you can eventually work independently and confidently.
