About Edward (Kefan)

Are you feeling lost with code? I understand.

My journey began after I watched the movie The Imitation Game in which the mathematician Alan Turing was a key contributor to victory in WWII by developing a machine that decrypted the German Enigma code. It made me want to enter the amazing world of computer science. But the reality was very hard. For me, the COMP2017 virtual machine assignment at USYD was a real monster. I often wanted to escape and just play video games and doomscroll on social media.
Then, when I was stuck, I met a mentor. He was a programming genius and taught me a secret: you can beat any big problem by taking small steps, one by one.
This idea changed everything. I started to do very well and earned a WAM of 87.5 and a place on the honour roll. The best treasure I got from this was a strong intuition and a sharp mind for solving problems.
Now, my mission is to help you find this skill too. I want to be the guide for you that I wished I had. Together, we can turn your confusion into confidence.

About the lesson

As a USYD honour roll graduate from Cybersecurity, my lessons are for university students who want to deeply understand lecture topics and solve tough problems. My teaching style is a partnership. Instead of giving you answers, I ask targeted questions that guide you to discover the solutions yourself. We explore the 'why' behind each concept, building your ability to design algorithms and debug code systematically, turning confusion into a powerful, independent problem-solving skill.

I can't recommend my friend Edward highly enough if you're looking for a computer science tutor.

I've known him since our time at Sydney Uni, and his passion for coding is genuinely infectious. What makes him a truly special tutor, though, is that he hasn’t forgotten what it feels like to be completely stuck. I remember seeing him work through incredibly tough assignments, and he came out the other side not just with amazing marks, but with a real empathy for students who feel overwhelmed.

He has a unique way of teaching - he won’t just give you the answers. Instead, he has this patient way of asking questions that guides you to the solution on your own. Honestly, you won’t find a more dedicated or understanding guide to help you navigate the world of code.
