About Ellen
Hello! I'm Ellen, a final year student in German and History at UCL. I tutor in German and History for students of GCSE and A-Level. Currently I am still in the education system and can easily relate to the struggles that students go through, which I had myself during school. Exams are hard, but with the right help and confidence building they can become a whole lot easier. Through my undergraduate I have developed knowledge of History and the German language, having lived in Austria for a year now. I aim to help students feel more confident, and realise that it is more than possible to succeed in subjects that they struggle with.
I equally struggled at school, with ADHD, yet have proven that this doesn't need to be a barrier to educational success.

As a tutor, I take a much more relaxed role than teachers at GCSE and A-Level. Sessions typically can last between 45 minutes and an hour, and can be tailored to the specific need of the student. For GCSE and A Level I focus on building exam skills and confidence in students, as well as the linguistic skills required. As a student myself, I understand the pressures that students are under and aim to help ease some of the pressure on exam candidates, whilst also helping them to feel more than prepared for their exams. I have no set teaching plan - this is completely up to the student and their specific needs.
