About Elena
I am currently a final year student at Durham University studying French and Russian. I have a long-standing interest in multi-culturalism and inclusion. I am an enthusiastic, warm and mature person with a compassionate nature. I enjoy working with students and seeing their academic progression. I do not believe in strict teaching methods or rigorously set time constraints or lesson plans. In my view, the student should always come first. My lessons are customised and adapted to fit the student’s needs and interests without fail. I always ensure my lessons are interactive and creative. For older students sitting public exams, I familiarise myself with the students' exam board to ensure lessons are guided by information provided by the exam board and backed up teacher instruction.
In the past, I have tutored French and Greek on a one to one basis and have worked as a teaching assistant for Russian students between the ages of 11 and 16. I have received extremely positive feedback from students, parents and teachers for expertise and approachability. Even though my past experience has not been as an English literature tutor, I got an 8 in GCSE English lIterature and Language and an A in English literature A-levels. My knowledge and understanding of English literature is extensive and it is a subject I am extremely enthusiastic about.
My lessons are always suited to the student's needs and therefore there is no set lesson length or any age limitations.
