About Mpho
I am a finance manager, currently completing her CA(SA) articles. I have 2 degrees in Accounting from the University of Witwatersrand and have over 5 years experience in tutoring Accounting. I am very passionate about tutoring and simplifying concepts, which are some of the things that gave birth to my tutoring interest.
I have been informally tutoring friends and classmates since Gr10 (2011), and started formally tutoring during varsity. I have seen a significant growth in my students, in their confidence, understanding and drive which has led to very successful results.
I have been a mentor for the Thuthuka students programme which has taught me to better connect and relate to my students.

I first evaluate the kind of learner the student is. I.e visual, auditory or Kinesthetic. I then start by explaining the overall concept, using real life examples to allow the student to be able to bring the concept home. I encourage open lines of communication and request the learner to explain concepts back to me to gauge their understanding on the subject matter. Post that, the student attempts the questions and we mark the questions together and identify any gaps. I give my students homework (additional questions on the topic we are busy with) and mark it in my own time, then we discuss the homework when I meet the student.
