About Calum
I am a stop-motion animator and photographer with an interest in being able to tell exciting stories through creative visuals and characters. I have been teaching animation, digital art and photography for the last 6 years alongside my own personal development. Within these years, I have led a variety of different projects and community focused art programmes, looking to engage all ages and abilities of participants. I have also worked 1-2-1 with individuals looking to improve their digital artwork and build a portfolio for further education Qualifications: Current PhD Student at Edinburgh College of Art - practice based research within Animation and looking at education in Scotland for Animation Edinburgh College of Art. 2018 - 2020 Master of Fine Art in Animation - Distinction Edinburgh College of Art. 2015 - 2018 BA (Hons) Animation - First Class

I believe everyone has the ability to develop and learn skills in animation, digital art and photography. Whether you are a beginner or are looking to develop your skills further, I can provide well organised and creative lesson plans at all levels. It is important to me to have direction, so not only will each lesson be well prepared, we will work together to set goals (short term, medium term and long term) and a clear route to achieve them. Each new student will get a free 30 minute chat to get to know me and you the chance to ask any questions and let me know what you want to achieve. Lessons will range from minimum 1 hour to maximum 3 hours depending on the individual needs of the student. Get in touch and find your creative voice!!

Perfect! Callum has a lot of experience- not only of the craft of animation but also of how to teach. He has a clear plan for each lesson and also an overall plan for the term - though lessons can be stand alone. Callum has built into each session freedom to explore the lesson themes in an individual’s own way. My son (11) has really engaged with the two hour long sessions and has concentrated throughout. I even overheard him say, ‘Wow! Look at that! I’m really proud of myself.’
