About Alice
During my BA in Fine Art I led gallery workshops, helping children and students of all ages experiment with different ways to explore arts and design-based topics and focused on researching learning through art in my practice. I have recently graduated from an MA in arts education at King's College London on which I gained knowledge of different learning theories and approaches of teaching arts and culture. I gained further experience of teaching arts and culture during my internship in the learning department of a museum. This combination of practical and academic experience has given me a broad range of skills in teaching and helping students to develop creative ways of learning in arts and culture. I can also help students applying to art foundation courses or fine art degrees to develop their artistic practice and portfolio. In addition to arts and cultural tutoring I can also offer broader guidance in academic work from essay writing to producing presentations. Having had dyslexia throughout my academic career has meant I have developed a range of creative ways of navigating essay writing and organisation of ideas. I would be particularly suited to providing academic support to a student with dyslexia.

I base my teaching methodology around the needs of the student and their own goals. I have developed a range of teaching and pedagogical approaches and so can adapt these based on the student's age, ability, academic goals and preferred ways of learning. These include but are not limited to the following methods: - Academic support in essay writing and research - art history and theory: learning through discussion, research assignments and written work - topic-based workshops exploring a range of themes and disciplines through creative methods. - portfolio development through discussion, feedback and assignments - technical drawing/painting tutorials
