About Io
I am an Artist and have developed an in depth knowledge of art history from my Job as a gallery assistant.
I have been tutoring drawing to four students for a year and previously worked in childcare. I have had a solo exhibition of my work with a gallery since graduating from Glasgow School of Art with a 2:1 and received a distinction in my foundation diploma from Falmouth University. I also won a competitive place to study traditional Japanese woodblock print making for a year at Kyoto Seika University in Japan.

I base my classes on the teaching I received at Glasgow School of Art. Beginning with how to use materials such as water based paints, oil and drawing mediums. I teach both observational drawing and drawing from the imagination using found text and images as prompts. A strategy encouraged at art school. I also teach students to paint with art history in mind and how to combine different references in their work. I can adapt my lessons to children of any age group, either preparing for art school applications or GCSE and have experience teaching young children.
