Ríss was my daughter’s art teacher for several years. Not only did my daughter make leaps and bounds in her artistic skills with her instruction, but she was always very patient, caring, and made art so much fun.

Marissa has been my daughter’s art tutor for several years now. It is amazing to see how much her skills have grown under her tutelage. My daughter is high functioning autistic and she works really well with her. She does a great job of balancing teaching and accountability with kindness and understanding. My daughter is 17 now and has been working on her portfolio to get ready for art school. I have no worries at this point that she will be able to get into any school she chooses and Marissa was an integral part of making that happen.

She is a wonderful teacher! Takes the time to assess what you want out of each lesson and helps you feel comfortable to be more creative and challenge yourself. With her help I have been able to elevate my art skills and have learned a lot about my personal style!

Four years ago, during one of my classes, Ríss asked me some very smart questions. This lead to further communications during which not only did I teach her, but she expressed a desire to become a teacher herself. Three years ago a class request came to me, but I already had other things scheduled. A voice in my head told me to pass the opportunity on to Ríss. She took it and knocked it out of the park! Since then, I've sent her many more teaching opportunities and in each case she received rave reviews. She knows how to teach, how to listen, how to guide via different paths when needed, and how to interact with many different types of people from pre-schoolers to inner city to ex-military. In every situation she rocked and truly improved the skills of her students.
