About Esther
I’ve just finished studying BA Geography at the University of Oxford and been awarded a First Class degree.
Having completed modules encompassing physical, human, and environmental geography, I am well equipped to help students succeed in all aspects of the discipline.
I also help students with Oxbridge applications, including personal statement writing and interview preparation.

Lessons are aimed at students studying National 5 - Advanced Higher qualifications and can last from 40 minutes to 1 hour.
My lessons are student oriented. First, we’ll identify knowledge gaps and set out what we want to achieve within the time available. We’ll focus on gaining a deep understanding of topics – instead of only asking what needs to be known, we’ll ask why something is the way it is, and why it is important to understand. Closer to exams, lessons will shift towards technique. Drawing on past papers, mark schemes, and course specifications, we’ll learn to treat the exam paper as a series of clues and prompts asking for specific strands of knowledge, worded in a certain way. Throughout, I will keep lessons fun and adaptive.
For interview preparation, I will mentor students to think critically and creatively, verbalise their thoughts, and confront the uncomfortable. Lessons will be practical-based and focused on mock questions.
