About Lorna
I am 23 years old, and I am planning on doing a MRes at the University of Liverpool in English Language with a research proposal on language and gender in the French language. I am a drama enthusiast and have performed in plays throughout my time at university alongside growing up with a passion for Speech and Drama. From the ages of 15-17 I worked for my drama teacher as an assistant for ages 4-13. I am passionate about learning and teaching. While on my year abroad near Marseille in France I tutored a French family (ages 40, 17 and 15) together in English. I like to be creative in how I teach and shape the lessons based on the students and what works for them.

Learning a second language means it is important to create habits and routines that will help you profit and learn as much as you can. My lessons will be adapted according to the levels and goals of the student! I like to make a plan for achievable aims e.g., listening to a French song every day a week and picking out specific vocabulary or watching the news/ a speech and doing the same and then reviewing it with me and I will follow up with an oral discussion in the language and/or reflective exercise. For exam levels I will bring in current topics and relevant cultural content that will help the student flourish in their understanding of the language and the cultures and histories associated with it.
