About James
I'm a UCL graduate with a First Class Honours degree, and I've always taken real satisfaction in helping others do well academically — first as a top-performing student myself, and now as a tutor working with students at both school and university level.
I got into tutoring because I love seeing that shift when a student moves from struggling with a topic to genuinely understanding it — and the confidence that comes with it. Grades matter, of course, but what I care about most is helping students build the kind of understanding and study habits that stay with them well beyond a single exam or deadline.

Hi! I offer tutoring across a wide range of subjects, drawing on a strong academic record — straight A*s at both GCSE and A Level, and a First Class Honours degree from UCL. I work with both school students and undergraduates, tailoring each session to the individual's subject, level, and goals.
My approach centres on building sustainable working habits rather than quick fixes: helping students develop genuine understanding of their material, structure their thinking clearly, and study in ways that hold up under exam pressure and beyond. For those preparing university applications, I offer focused support on personal statements, interview technique, and the kind of critical thinking admissions tutors look for — aiming to give applicants a real edge.
