About Mathura
As a mathematics gruaduate, I am fascinated by the concept of mathematical proof and the satisfaction of being able to use logical arguments to solve a complex problem with an axiomatic proof.
While studying mathematics at the University of Bristol, where I graduated from in 2022 with first class honours, I was able continue to develop these skills further and explore my interest in pure mathematics, in particular in number theory due to my interest in the intrinsic nature of numbers in our universe.
My ability to explain mathematical ideas were first developed when I became a tutor 8 years ago and the skills I have developed through constructing proofs throughout my degree, have allowed me to hone my communication skills further enabling me to become a better tutor, as well as mathematician, in the process.

As a personal tutor for the last 8 years, I am well aware of the unique needs of each student and the importance of tailoring lessons to each individual based not only on their current ability and preferred learning style, but also their particular history with the subject. As mathematics, unlike some other disciplines, is a cumulative subject, a key focus of my lessons is making sure that we build a solid foundation in key topics that recur throughout the curriculum at both gcse and A level such as algebra, trigonometry, geometry and calculus.
In addition to a sound understanding of the basics of these topics and the more complex concepts that are later covered, I look to develop arguably the most important skill required to be a competent mathematician: problem-solving. Through my lessons, I hope to not only work through how to approach difficult problems, but also how to then express these solutions through clear arguments, enabling students to be awarded top marks in their exams.
My lessons are typically 1 hour weekly with homework set in between to ensure that students are able to practice the content taught to solidify their knowldge, although I am flexible to teach longer lessons/ more frequently depending on individual preference. I teach both maths and further for all levels up to A-levels.
