About Charlotte
I'm Charlotte, I studied at Oxford, and I absolutely adore languages and literature. At GCSE, I was fortunate enough to be able to study four languages, and I scored A*s in all of them (French, German, Latin, Classical Greek). I just love the mechanics of language, and being able to understand great works of literature in my second tongue. I wrote my dissertation on the Early Modern playwright, Regnard, for which I was awarded a first, and I'm so thankful that I was taught French at all, enabling me to be able to read his works. I finished my studies in June 2024, and was awarded First Class Honours.
During my year out, I volunteered as a language assistant at a local secondary school, where I helped students to practise their speaking in small groups or individually, led small groups for students who found grammatical features more taxing, marked a number of mock GCSE papers, and led an SEND introduction to French class. In that year, the modern languages department saw the greatest grade improvement from one year to the next of any department in the school. I also chaperoned on a number of school trips and am DBS checked.

I am a first-class graduate of Oriel College, Oxford, and have worked as a language assistant in a secondary school, in which the MFL dept saw the greatest year-on-year GCSE grade improvement of any department in the school :)
I am available to tutor students working towards Common Entrance, GCSE, A-Level, MLAT, or BA, and can also offer Oxbridge interview prep sessions.
I strive to instil a greater understanding of the mechanics of language, and truly believe that a more complete comprehension of a foreign language will not only open numerous doors for a student, but will also greatly improve their mother tongue. I am patient, articulate, and extremely encouraging.
I achieved 10 A*s and 1 A at GCSE, and 2 A*s and 1 A at A Level (French, English Literature, Latin respectively). I attained a first from Oxford in French in 2024.
