About Shreya
¡Hola! I'm a second-year college student in California and a passionate Spanish tutor dedicated to supporting my community by allowing students to embrace the beauty of this language while also having fun with it. Throughout my years of education, I have sharpened my Spanish-speaking and tutoring skills by working with nonprofit organizations, which have taught me the importance of tailoring each class to the student's wants and needs, something I extremely value. I strive to inspire a younger generation of Spanish speakers to truly love the language through structured lessons paired with engaging activities. Most importantly, I make sure to foster a wonderful and supportive environment where the students can truly express themselves.

My teaching method is heavily interactive and student-centered as I love interacting with the students and allowing them to express their ideas and opinions openly in a safe environment. I'm a very flexible person and always supportive of my students, and I acknowledge that Spanish is not an easy language for all people, so I will be taking a slower approach while also nudging the students to bring out their Spanish speaking voices through fun activities and games. A typical lesson plan would consist of a small icebreaker activity/warmup that allows students to talk to each other while reviewing the previous session's content, a presentation that focuses on the topic for the day, then a small, interactive activity that gets the students practicing what they had just learned. Depending on how the classes go, I may also assign homework on certain days I believe my classes would be best for children ages 10 and above (around the middle school or high school years), anywhere between beginner and intermediate level students.
