About Rosanna
My name is Rosie and I'm a third year Spanish student at the University of Bristol. Before going to university, I spent 3 months nannying in Madrid. I have also just come back from my year abroad, which I spent living and working in Buenos Aires - I've been speaking Spanish for 10 years now and it is fluent.
Before I left for Buenos Aires, I tutored in Bristol for two years, to a mixture of young students and older professionals. My Mum is also a Spanish teacher at University level, meaning I have picked up on her methods and sometimes use her material in my classes! To mention a few students, I helped two young GCSE students to attain A* and A in their exams, and also helped a lovely couple to speak intermediate level Spanish before they moved out to Marbella permanently.
I also tutored in Buenos Aires, both in English to Spanish speakers and Spanish to English speakers. I'm used to meeting new people and adapting my methods to exactly what suits them best!

Like I said before, I love to cater my classes to exactly that which my students want to attain in their Spanish. With my GCSE students, we did plenty of vocabulary building, learnt key essay phrases for them to use in their written and spoken assessments, listening practice and we wrote and went through past papers together.
With the couple from Bristol, we focused more on their spoken language; colloquial expressions, how to get by in day-to-day situations, spoken fluency practice and even lessons on the differences between Spanish and English cultures.
I like to keep my classes really interactive and interesting, Spanish is a fun language and should be taught in a fun way! I find that bringing in controversial articles is often a great starting point for conversation practice; I also think it is very important to learn colloquial Spanish alongside more formal grammar and vocab.
