About Dr Purna
I did my B.Sc. from Presidency College, Kolkata in Botany(Hons.) With Chemistry and zoology. Then I did my M.Sc. in Environmental Sciences from Kalyani University. Post that, I completed my Ph.D. in Forestry from H.N.B.Garhwal Central University. While I was in my B.Sc. days I started private tutoring, then I taught at Rabindra Bharati corresponding college. Then in my Ph.D. days, I started to teach B.Sc. students as a teaching assistant. Next, I joined H.N.B. Garhwal Central University as guest faculty (now the post is renamed as Assistant Professor). In the meantime, I stood 3rd in State Eligibility Test (SET) Uttarakhand for Environmental Sciences. I joined Phonics Group of Institutions, Roorkee as Assistant Professor and I became Head of Department there. Two years back I joined Doon (PG) College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology, Dehradun. Currently, I am still working here.

My main focus always remains in keeping the explanation of matters simple with versatile examples. Also, I believe in the idiom " five fingers of a hand are never similar" therefore, my focus always remains first on identifying the capability of my students. I don't believe that simple explanations always will fit all types of students as the method may be simple to some but may not fit for rest. So, tons of experience in teaching have enabled me to develop teaching skills that cater to each student in a distinct manner as each student is unique.
Moreover, I believe the visual impact is always better than listening. That's why to make my teaching interesting, I use pictorial and graphical representation, documentary videos as key tools. Additionally, I believe in citing examples from our daily lives to keep my explanation simple to understand and compare. Also, I believe in updated knowledge as well. Hence I always like to add on new research and news regarding the topics. I believe this way of learning can ignite the passion for learning, knowing more deeply with practical knowledge in the students.
