About Brendan
As I mentioned before, I am a former elementary school teacher, I taught English in Barcelona for a year and 3rd Grade in the Bronx for 3 years. I'm 29 years old and I live in Brooklyn, NY. I learned Spanish entirely from school and from living in Argentina and Spain. This means that I understand the struggles and misconceptions of learning Spanish even more than a native Spanish-speaker.
Don't let that deceive you though, I speak fluent Spanish and I am a perfect example that you can get to that point as well! I know firsthand how exciting it is to suddenly be able to converse with a whole other part of the world! Traveling in Latin America and Spain is SO much fun for me because I can speak with anyone I encounter. I want to provide you with that same experience, and I have the credentials and the teaching experience to make it happen!
A little more about me: my other interests include reading, cycling, cooking, traveling, film (I'll give great recommendations on Spanish-language shows and movies that will help you increase your fluency!), and playing guitar. I hope you pick me as your guide to the wonderful language of Spanish!

My approach is full-immersion (as much as possible). I encourage students to try and to make mistakes. I model real-world scenarios and identify the words/situations that a new Spanish-speaker is likely to encounter.
Having travelled extensively across the Spanish-speaking world, I can tailor your learning to a target destination if needed (regional accents and vocabulary vary widely).
I aspire to cultivate a fun, curious environment in my lessons...it helps that I used to teach 32 9-year-olds in the Bronx on my own. That experience showed me how to differentiate my lessons for different types of learners, and I can guarantee a model that caters to your specific learning style.
