About Sarah
As an educator, I hope to make the task of learning English fun, approachable and less daunting than it may seem.
I spent 2 years working with French students in a classroom setting as an English language assistant. During this time, and currently, I tutored students aged 8 to 45 in English, either as homework support or as a private ESL instructor. Before this, I spent all four years of my university studies working either in English literacy education or as a writing advisor.
I take my role as an educator very seriously, and work hard to have my students meet their goals, but I am, above all, approachable. Language-learning can be frightening because of our fear of making mistakes and embarrassing ourselves. I embrace errors in my lessons, as they are valuable teaching moments and mean that my student is putting themselves out there and taking risks; which can only lead to growth and improvement.

With a Bachelors degree in French literature and German studies, I know firsthand the challenges of learning a foreign language. My approach to teaching is not a one-size-fits all methodology; everyone learns differently, and this is especially true for languages.
A typical lesson will start with a quick 5 to 10 minute "Warm Up" exercise and a check-in with the student where I explain what we will work on that session. We will then move on to the prepared lesson. This lesson may consist of reviewing and continuing a grammar lesson from a previous session, conversation practice based around a specific topic, video, or article, a grammar lesson and exercises to be continued in the following lesson, or a speaking activity that targets specific skills such as debates, descriptions, using idioms, etc... all corresponding to the goals of the student.

Je suis depuis 8 mois des cours d’anglais avec Sarah, plusieurs fois par mois. Je suis en mesure d’affirmer que Sarah coche toutes les cases d’une excellente prof d’anglais : disponible, sympathique, américaine et disposant d’une riche culture des Etats-Unis et de la France. Elle a, de plus, un très bon niveau en français, ce qui facilite les traductions et lève les incompréhensions.
Mobilisant supports vidéo et exercices écrits, Sarah propose de réels cours d’anglais, et non des discutions rémunérées comme beaucoup de profs.. Ils vous permettront de progresser dans les domaines visés : compréhension orale & écrite, et/ou expression orale & écrite.

Sarah est une excellente enseignante! Elle a accompagné ma fille de 14 ans pendant toute l’année grâce à des cours dynamiques et variés en anglais, en distanciel. Ma fille était toujours enthousiaste à l’idée de la retrouver en visio. Elle a pu améliorer ses capacités dans toutes les compétences langagières.
