About Kaylie
I am a former professional ballet dancer who performed in Madrid, Spain for over two years. Prior to that, I trained at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where I performed soloist roles and developed a deep understanding of the intricacies of performance and artistry. Throughout the last six years of my dance career, I have learned that dance is not simply about executing choreography or performing a routine, but it is about discovering the artist behind each movement.
Dance allowed me to uncover emotions and ideas within myself that I did not know existed. During my time in Spain, I grew significantly in my understanding of technique, precision, and discipline, while also learning how to pursue excellence in a healthy and sustainable way. Developing confidence in who I was as an artist, while continuing to refine my training, became essential. This mindset allowed me to stay grounded in my identity and focused on my own growth and potential, rather than seeking validation from directors or peers.

I work one-on-one with each student to help them grow and reach new goals in their dancing. Depending on the style being taught, I assess each student individually, helping them understand their strengths while also identifying areas that may need refinement. I focus on strengthening and showcasing what they do well, while encouraging them to step outside of their comfort zone to develop new skills with confidence. Each lesson is thoughtfully planned and tailored to the student’s goals, requests, and needs whether that includes technique refinement, solo cleaning, or full class instruction. I primarily teach students ages 10–18, but I am open to working with students of all ages. I am passionate about helping dancers reach new heights and grow not only in skill, but also in confidence and identity.
