About Pedro
I studied Engineering at IST Lisbon and then Physics at the Faculty of Science in Lisbon. I moved to the Netherlands to study for a PhD in Astrophysics at the University of Leiden. For the past 20 years I have been a researcher in astrophysics and have taught at universities in the USA (Harvard, Hawaii), Germany (Göttingen) and the United Kingdom (Queen's University Belfast). In 2019 I moved back to the Netherlands where I teach private lessons in Mathematics, Physics and other exact sciences. The internet also allows me to help students in Portugal, and that is what brings me to this platform.

Life is easier if you have a good grasp of mathematics and I believe this within reach for anyone. Each student is unique and the teacher's challenge is to figure our how to address each person. I want to help students in Portugal and thanks to the internet I can do this from my home in the Netherlands. I use Zoom to communicate with students. Mathematics requires practice and as such I use programs like Kahoot to make classes as interactive as possible. In addition to my native Portuguese, I speak fluent English, Italian and Dutch and I can teach in these languages.
