Hello! I'm Betty, I'm a private tutor specialising in high school English (all levels) and Biology. I graduated in 2023 from the University of Sydney with Class 1 Honours in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Diagnostic Radiography). I dedicate my weekends to tutoring high school students while working part-time as a radiographer.

As of August 2024, I have over 1800 cumulative hours of experience tutoring 46 different students. I have experience tutoring English Advanced, English Standard, EALD, English Extension I, English Extension II, and Biology.

I tailor my teaching methods to suit students from diverse learning and social backgrounds. My tutoring approach centres on practice and feedback. The biggest improvements and best results I've cultivated come from my students who have the same drive to improve as I instil in them. I aim to be both a tutor and a mentor, offering guidance for life after high school. My background in radiography and diverse leadership experiences allow me to create a comfortable learning environment to support my students in becoming well-rounded individuals, while also helping with university and scholarship applications.

"Seriously one of the best tutors I've ever had. You saved me in English when my teachers stopped caring."
"Thank you so much for boosting my marks up so much. I never wanted to recommend an English teacher as much as I wanted to recommend you. The tutoring lessons were my most effective tutoring ever. Thank you! 10/10."
"I really liked the way you taught biology! I always thought bio was simply about memorising but the way you broke it down helped me understand it which made memorising so much easier!"

With 4+ years of tutoring experience, I've likely taught your school texts before, and if not, Iβll quickly get up to speed. Iβve created detailed guides and crash courses on textual analysis and essential English skills. For Biology students, I offer hand-drawn diagrams, flowcharts, and notes that helped me excel in the HSC, providing invaluable resources for understanding complex scientific processes.
Please don't hesitate to message me! I look forward to every interaction with potential and current students!

First and foremost, I believe in the importance of creating an amicable and friendly atmosphere between my student and I. I've had lots of experience with bad tutors while I was in high school, and most of it came from a stale, unenthusiastic outlook on the tutoring experience. I strive to create condensed, clear and informative diagrams, visual aids, and explanations for all subjects.

A wide smile and a bubbly personality that draws people of all kinds to her is only a snippet of who Betty truly is. Betty is a most wonderful and dedicated teacher who shows extraordinary commitment to teaching each and every student in an engaging yet professional manner, going above and beyond to ensure her students achieve their personal best. As an all-rounder, Betty has a deep knowledge in multiple fields, and is a most wonderful and respectable person to learn from. Her calm and patient manner keeps her students at ease, her concise and clear communication makes tasks as simple as straightforward as possible, but her silly sense of humour and infectious laugh never fails to make each and every task thoroughly enjoyable. Overall, Betty's wide and deep knowledge coupled to her positive manner incites students to work hard to achieve their personable best whilst making learning enjoyable.
