About Hollis
Greetings! Hollis Hoier here and sharing some personal characteristics that might intrigue you. I always wanted to be a veterinarian but completed my science studies to become a wildlife biologist/ manager. I've worked as a federal biologist on wildlife refuges & national parks. I've also worked at marine science research centers. I loved both as I was out in Nature... my favorite playground and laboratory. Biotechnology is a recent area of certification and incredibly interesting! As a teacher, I've taught students in public schools (K-12), summer ecology camps, and more recently in colleges (Student Research, Biology, Health, Algebra, and Environmental Issues). I raise and train yellow Labrador retrievers as therapy dogs and hunting retrievers. I enjoy bodysurfing, swimming as a US Master Swimmer, hiking & camping with my dogs, and gardening. I am a very happy person.

Knowledge acquisition measured by oral discussion, survey of concepts learned via rubric scoring, student portfolio artifacts overtime. Performance monitoring done regularly to promote student efficacy (self-regulation) skills.
