About Kai-Ping
I founded Tritone Music Academy in 2005, based in California. We are contracted by public schools to provide after school music programmes: group ukulele and guitar lessons. I built the unique programme from scratch and authored curriculum for my students. I recently moved to Norfolk to be closer to family. I want to bring that heavy experience to take on some individual students out here. My music career began in punk and ska bands when I was a teenager. Then an acoustic-rock singer/songwriter project in University. Finally, after graduating from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, I did several tours and albums with alternative rock bands.

As a multi-instrumentalist with both a classical and jazz background, I'm passionate about teaching the big picture of music: Melody, Harmony, and Rhythm, and how they interact with each other. I focus on music literacy, musicianship, theory, and arranging. I founded and ran a music school in California for 17 years before moving to Norfolk to be closer to family. For that school I wrote three volumes of curriculum which I use in my lessons. My school focused on Uke lessons for 6-9 year olds and guitar lessons 9 and up (age ranges are fluid). I also love teaching adults. I can teach vocals, drums, and bass as well. We can do 30, 45, or 60 min lessons near Norwich, or via zoom.

Perfect! Kai-Ping is an excellent guitar tutor, he's very patient, knowledgable and works from his own established programme. He has helped me massively improve my playing and understanding of guitar theory.
Perfect! I have found Kai to be professional and easy to learn from as a beginner. His technical skills in teaching are excellent and I would recommend him highly. After two lessons I am making progress!

First free lessons only apply to online or lessons in Acle. After the first lesson, if you decide to proceed, I charge for all the lessons on a given month at the first lesson of the month. Cancellation Policy: Lessons rescheduled more than 24 hours before the lesson have no penalty. Cancellations within 24 hours will be charged the full lesson price (barring a catastrophic emergency)
