About Arlo
I'm Arlo, a 22 year old MA student at the University of Glasgow studying Children's Literature, and I have a degree in English Literature from UCL. I'm a native French speaker and have spent most of my life in Paris, before moving to the UK. I have experience in tutoring in both private settings (in person and over zoom), mainly for middle and high schoolers, and in delivering in-person classes for larger groups of mature students. I am friendly and approachable, and I care about making sure that students feel that they can express their needs and expectations for the lessons.

As a teacher, I prioritise creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable to participate and develop their oral skills. I place emphasis on developing conversational ease, as I feel that this is the best way to become confident in the mastery of a language. I try to create engaging and challenging (and fun) vocabulary, grammar, and writing comprehension exercises that are related to french and francophone popular culture and current events,so as to anchor the student's french skills in the "real world" of francophonia. I offer classes from elementary school pupils to mature students.
