About Connor
Hey, I'm a first-year history student at Trinity College, Cambridge. Before uni, I studied Maths, English, Chemistry, and History at A-Level, and achieved four A*s. For the last year I've tutored a few family friends in GCSE history and maths, as well as A-Level history. One of my GCSE tutees was, with my help, able to raise her history mock result from an E to an A in her final exam.

I believe the best way to approve, both for myself and others, is through practice and feedback. Hence, in terms of revision, writing essays and essay feedback would be central to any tutorial. History is not about just learning facts, but applying facts you have learnt to construct an argument.
To this end, 'learning' lessons would be structured on a Cambridge 'supervision', not a typical a class. Instead of talking to a student, some initial reading is followed by targeted questions. In my opinion, being question on a topic allows for better engagement and understanding, as well as already prompting students to think in terms of forming arguments. Of course, this structure does also allow for direct explanations of complex topics where needed.
