About Susanna
I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2016, and achieved a Distinction at DipABRSM level in piano performance in 2023.
I have been teaching piano full-time since 2018, and have experience in making lessons fun for all students, from the very youngest beginners to those picking up the instrument in retirement.
I have a particular interest in making piano accessible for SEN/neurodiverse students, and is currently working on a new resource for beginners bearing this in mind. 'The Piano Forest' is a book aiming to capture the imagination of young children and use colour in creative ways to aid learning.
Lessons are available in classical, jazz, or popular styles, and you can take exams with ABRSM or Trinity, although there is no pressure to do so.

I teach children and adults from beginner to grade 8 level. I tend to work with what the client wants to play - I can coach classical skills as well as popular styles and jazz, and can also provide the discipline and structure of working towards ABRSM graded exams.

Susanna teaches my 10 year old son and has been doing a fantastic job (both in person and on zoom). Her enthusiasm and willingness to help my son learn and practice has been great. She makes each lesson fun, educational and engaging and my son has been progressing well.

Susanna has been teaching me piano now for almost 4 months over Skype. I requested to have lessons via video calls and she happily obliged. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and level of teaching I have received!
Susanna is blessed with a warm friendly demeanour. She has the ability to explain new ideas in a clear, easily comprehensible and concise manner. When going through a new idea she gives the feeling that she is 'there alongside' rather than talking down. She is no less authoritative for that.
I know her through the Cambridge Unitarian church where she both chaired and organised the 'Cambridge Free Thinkers' evenings held there. This was a weekly forum in which to explore many of the challenging issues of our day. Her ethics and compassion, as well as her ability to let everyone have their say without any one person dominating the proceedings was quite excellent.
All in all I find her to be a careful and caring, highly considerate person who loves to see others fulfill their potential.Susanna is extremely friendly and accommodating. She’s a great teacher and very patient.
