About Terry
I studied in Christchurch, New Zealand since I was 14 years old before returning to Taiwan. Growing up and studying in an English-speaking environment helped me understand both Western and Asian cultures, as well as the challenges English speakers face when learning Mandarin Chinese.
Since 2019, I have been working and communicating in English regularly, which allows me to explain Chinese clearly and comfortably to international students. I enjoy creating a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students can practice speaking naturally and confidently.
My lessons focus on practical conversation, daily communication, pronunciation, and Taiwanese culture. I believe learning a language should be fun, interactive, and useful for real life. Beginners are always welcome, and I will adapt lessons based on your goals and learning pace.

I offer friendly and practical Taiwanese Mandarin lessons for beginners and intermediate students who want to improve their speaking confidence in real-life situations. My classes focus on conversation, pronunciation, daily communication, and useful vocabulary rather than memorising difficult grammar rules.
I create a relaxed and interactive learning environment where students can practice speaking naturally through games, roleplay, travel situations, and daily conversations. Lessons can also include Taiwanese culture, food, travel, and business communication depending on your interests.
Whether you are learning Chinese for travel, work, personal interest, or cultural exchange, I will personalise each lesson to match your goals and learning pace. Beginners are very welcome!
