About Delia
I bring over 4 years of experience as a guitar tutor, working with students in-person and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance (Contemporary Styles), which shapes my well-rounded and creative teaching style. My lessons focus on compositional techniques, arranging for guitar, and composing original pieces. Students learn harmonic concepts, melodic invention, counterpoint, and the basics of recording demos. I adapt my teaching to suit different goals, from building foundational skills to exploring advanced composition. Over the years, I have helped complete beginners find confidence and guided advanced players into new creative territory. Some of my students are aspiring professionals, and I take pride in helping them expand their artistry. My philosophy is that technique and creativity go hand in hand. Lessons are interactive, flexible, and supportive. Students discover how music theory connects to personal expression. The guitar becomes a tool not just for performance but for self-discovery. I believe guitar theory should always connect to playing. In my lessons, we learn scales, modes, chords, and harmonic analysis with the fretboard as our guide. Each topic is explained in simple terms and applied through real examples. I tailor lessons to meet different student goals. Some prefer bold exploration, others focus on detail and discipline. My approach supports both paths, ensuring progress is steady and meaningful. Improvisation is taught in a way that feels natural and exciting. Composition is encouraged so students learn to create as they play. I demonstrate concepts directly on the guitar to make them clear. Over time, students discover patterns that unlock their playing. The method builds both technical skill and creative confidence. Lessons are motivating, interactive, and adapted to the learner. My aim is to help every student turn theory into fluent music-making.
