About Katherine
Fully trained in a multitude of methods, including both Orton-Gillingham and Wilson. I have over 16 years of experience in teaching both children and adults diagnosed with Global Language Disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, Dyslexia, Auditory Processing Disorder and Dispraxia, to name a few. I believe the combination of my hands on experience and training, including, certification in Sensory Integration Training etc., has truly given me a unique knowledge and experience base, which I use to add an extra level of understanding when tutoring my students.
I would describe my teaching style as firm but fair. I have a genuine love of what I do, as well as a high level of curiosity, which I believe, makes me that much more effective as a teacher.
I am patient, tolerant ,diplomatic and empathetic. I have the ability to ‘think outside the box’. I am very comfortable adapting my tutoring strategy to fit the learning styles of my individual students, and really enjoy working with the more challenging students who very often have a combination of different learning difficulties and challenges.
